The Lewiston Volunteer Ambulance was established in 1974. It has grown throughout the years, and the service is now responding to over 200 calls per year. Total coverage area consists of 125 square miles which include the Cities of Lewiston, Utica, and Stockton. Lewiston Ambulance also responds to the townships of Hart, Hillsdale, Fremont, Warren, Utica, and Norton. In 2005 a full-time Ambulance Director was hired. This position handles the day to day operations of the service, is in charge of the Emergency Medical Responder training program, teaches CPR and also responds to emergencies Monday-Friday 6am-6pm. Lewiston Ambulance provides Basic Life Support, and works with Winona and Mayo Clinic Ambulances along with Mayo One and Gundersen Air when Advanced Life Support is necessary. The crew currently consists of 20 Emergency Medical Technicians, 4 EMR/Drivers and 1 Driver.

Lewiston Ambulance congratulates Sandy Nisbit on retirement
On Sunday May 19, 2019 the Lewiston Ambulance recognized the service of our member Sandy Nisbit as she retires from active duty. Sandy joined the Ambulance in May of 1981. She has held many positions throughout her career, and has set an example for all of us to follow. The staff and administration of the Lewiston Ambulance along with the community congratulate Sandy and give her our sincerest thanks! Job well done!
