Want to Run For Mayor or City Council in 2020?

The next scheduled election for Lewiston elected officials will be held on November 3, 2020. The elections will consist of electing a Mayor and 2 Council Members. The Mayor’s term last 2 years and a Council Member’s term last for 4 years.Terms start and end on the first Monday of odd years and are recorded by resolution during the canvassing board held in November after the election results have been counted.

There are two ways in which you can run for office. The first is submitting a affidavit for candidacy with the City Clerk. This is done in August of the election year and puts your name on the ballot. The second way is to run as a “write-In” candidate but your name will not appear on the ballot. Want to Become an Election Judge 2020?

Becoming an election judge provides you with the opportunity to be apart of the elections. You will help voters register and instruct voters on how to properly complete the ballot. You will be provided with paid training along with compensation during the elections. For more information contact the City Clerk’s office.
