NOTICE OF FILING AFFIDAVITS OF CANDIDACY 

Notice is hereby given that a Federal, State, and Municipal General Election in the City of Lewiston, in the County of Winona, State of Minnesota, will be held on Tuesday, the 3rd day of November 2020, between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

That the first day for filing Affidavits of Candidacy for the following offices:

Two Council Member Seats

(Four-Year Terms)

One Mayor Seat

(2-Year Term)

will be Tuesday, July 28, 2020 and the last day for filing Affidavits of Candidacy for said election will be no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. Individuals can file for the above offices at City Hall 75 Rice Street  Lewiston MN 55952. City Hall is open Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on August 11, 2020.

Public Works Maintenance Worker – PT 

The City of Lewiston seeks applicants for a part-time public works maintenance worker vacancy. This position will work up to 32 hours per week at a pay rate of $16 per hour. This position performs a variety of duties involved with maintenance and repair of city streets, parks, water and sewer utilities in all types of weather conditions.

Completed applications and supplemental questionnaires are required and will be accepted until the position is filled. Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of completed applications and supplemental questionnaires. Priority will be given to those received by Monday, June 15 at 4:30pm, and first review will take place at that time.

If you are over 60 and in need of a meal because of the covid-19 virus, Meals on Wheels can provide one hot meal per day to your home, up to 7 per week. Each meal contains 1/3 of the Recommended Daily Allowances.

Attention:  Board of Appeal and Equalization meeting

This required meeting was scheduled for Thursday, April 9th at 7pm here at City Hall. It is now cancelled due to COVID-19.

It will be held in an “open book” meeting style. This means that if any taxpayers have concerns about their property valuation, they will need to contact John Conway (507-457-6300) of the Winona County Assessor’s Office to meet with him one-on-one and discuss their concerns. They will contact Mr. Conway instead of meeting with the City Council.
